'Schools TB Clubs' project was
launched in October 2008 with the assistance of the
Global Fund (GFATM). Its for the first time in the
world that such an initiative has been taken in
which school children in the age group 10 to 16 are
made aware about tuberculosis and then made
'Ambassadors or Advocates of TB' whereby they go
back in their community and create awareness
regarding the disease including its spread, symptoms
and treatment.
From 1st October to 30th September
2008 across Pakistan in 10 districts School TB Clubs
have been formed in 50 schools. More then 1500
children have become members of these clubs while
almost 30,000 children have been provided with
awareness.
More details about the project
will be posted on this page in a few days with
pictures and details of the activities undertaken
during the past one year.
